For DACH businesses it stands out on data protection: texts are processed exclusively on DeepL's own servers in Cologne, Germany, and submitted content is not retained in the Pro tier. DeepL provides an AV-Vertrag (DPA), and with German EU data residency there is no third-country transfer to assess. A free tier exists, but for business use the Pro tier is the relevant one because it adds the no-retention guarantee and the DPA.
